AIM Part 1: Embodied Dancing, 10am-1pm
Begin to free patterns of tension to access your underlying support and awaken intimacy and surprise in yourself to uncover varied and unexpected material in your dance practices and/or in performance. Kinesthetic information is received through “hands-on work” and can then be integrated into your dancing. During guided improvisations you will have opportunities to witness each other to access more presence and aliveness in your dancing.
AIM Part 2: Contact Improv, 2-5pm
Learn to listen and respond in the moment to yourself, others, and the space around you to access more effortless and efficient partnering. Receiving “hands-on” work promotes whole-body integration and helps you free and expand as you come into contact with another. You will witness each other dancing in duets and trios to awaken your spatial perception and deepen your connection with yourself in relation to others.

SUSAN SINCLAIR is Director of Sinclair Studio teaching Alexander Technique and the Pilates Method for over 20 years, and has directed her Alexander Technique Teacher Training Program since 2003. Susan has taught in Alexander teacher trainings in the USA, Germany and Japan since 2000. Susan is on faculty at The Houston School and the Alexander Alliance, Tokyo.
SUZANNE LISKA is a dance artist, teacher, Co-Artistic Director of Flightworks, and Co-Founder of the aLOFT Project. As a company dancer for Kathleen Rea’s REAson d’etre Dance Productions, Suzanne danced in the three times Dora Award nominated “Long Live” and for “Vivid 4”. She has also danced for choreographers Karen Kaeja, Pam Johnson, and Sue Lee, and has performed at Dusk Dances, Dance Matters, Art Whispers, DARK, and Harbourfront Centre, as well as many other venues and festivals. Suzanne teaches professional dancers, actors, high school and elementary school students, and community dancers. Specializing in dance improvisation since 1998, she teaches Contact Improv Dance and Spontaneous Composition (Improv Ensemble dance). Suzanne is a faculty teacher at the Randolph Academy for Performing Arts.

Anatomy with David Gorman During 2015-2016 Training
/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by rjDavid Gorman will be teaching his work, “Anatomy of Wholeness” as part of the Studio’s Alexander Technique Teacher Training Program for 2015/2016.
This will be a 36 hour course for trainees as well as for any graduates or serious students that wish to join. It is recommended that people consider taking the whole course, as it will be set out in such a way to bring the study of anatomy together with the Alexander Technique.
Classes begin Saturday September 12 from 3 -5pm, and then again on Wednesday September 16 from 10am-12pm. David will teach every Saturday of the training as well as every Wednesday of the week long trainings.
Fees for this course will be $40 per class, or $720 for the whole course.

Martha Hansen Fertman Visit, January, 2015
/1 Comment/in Uncategorized /by rjJanuary 5-8, 2014, Senior Alexander teacher in the Barstow Lineage, Martha Hansen Fertman will be visiting the Alexander Technique Teacher Training Program during the regular January training week.
As this will be Martha’s only visit to Toronto this year, in addition to leading the training during these four days she will also be offering a special afternoon workshop for trainees and teachers of the Technique from 2-5pm, Wednesday, January 7 for a fee of $60.
Teachers and trainees interested in attending the Wednesday afternoon workshop can register online.
